Why touch controls make or break a racer
I have deleted more mobile racers over bad controls than over anything else. You can have gorgeous tracks and a killer soundtrack, but if steering feels vague or the drift button lags, the whole thing collapses.
Neon Drift Loop got this right by keeping it simple — tilt to steer, swipe to drift. There is a short adjustment period, and then it becomes muscle memory. That is the sweet spot every racer should aim for.
On-screen buttons work too, but only when they are big enough and placed where your thumbs actually rest. Too many games cram tiny controls into corners and wonder why players struggle.
If you are shopping for a mobile racer, my honest recommendation is to spend the first ten minutes just feeling the handling. If it is not clicking by then, it probably never will. Trust that instinct.
