Emberwake Saga

Emberwake Saga is the rare mobile RPG that respects your attention. Battles are turn-based and quick, but there is real depth in how you build your party — swap out members, chain elemental attacks, and time your defensive stances. It runs smoothly even on older phones, which is not something I can say about a lot of its competitors.

The writing carried me further than I expected. There is a slow-building tale about a fading fire spirit and the town that depends on it, and the side characters have enough personality that I actually read their dialogue instead of tapping through. Progression feels steady rather than grindy.

My only gripe is the inventory menu, which gets cluttered late game. Otherwise this is a lovely, self-contained adventure you can play in twenty-minute chunks.
